Ruth Memorial Chapel holds a small, personal chapter of Parker’s history
The 1912 chapel’s name connects a familiar Mainstreet building with a family remembered by the local historical society.

The white chapel at 19650 East Mainstreet is more than a picturesque stop in old Parker. Parker Arts identifies Ruth Memorial Chapel, completed in 1912, as the town’s first permanent church building. Its modest scale invites a closer look at the people behind a familiar landmark.
The Parker Area Historical Society connects its name to Ruth, the daughter of Dr. Heath, who died young. The society records the congregation’s first gathering in June 1912 and the chapel’s dedication in May 1913. Those dates help distinguish the start of community use from a later formal ceremony.

From a public vantage point, look at how the bell tower, windows and simple exterior give the building its identity without requiring a large footprint. The archival photograph with this article records a real view from 2012, rather than presenting a recreated historical scene as evidence.
The chapel remains an event venue, including private ceremonies. Treat an exterior history walk separately from permission to enter: do not assume the door is open for sightseeing or interrupt an event. Contact Parker Arts about current access if seeing the interior is central to your visit, and let the historical society’s account add context before you go.
